Canada – Wildfires Continue to Ravage Multiple Provinces
Canada is grappling with an intense wildfire season, with over 1,377 fires reported as of May 30, 2025. The blazes have scorched approximately 1.58 million hectares, primarily affecting Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan. Two civilian fatalities have been confirmed in Manitoba’s Lac du Bonnet. Approximately 26,900 residents have been evacuated from high-risk areas. States of emergency have been declared in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Firefighting efforts are ongoing, with support from national and international agencies. Environmental experts warn of long-term ecological impacts. The government is allocating additional resources to combat the fires and assist affected communities.
